Signatures
Signatures are typically accompanied by a date, and this date should be the actual day the signature was provided.
Pre or post-dating should never be performed.
Back-dating or writing dates other than the current date when the signature was provided is never acceptable, and in some cases, can be deemed fraud!
Most organizations have an employee signature “specimen” file, so try to keep your signature consistent.
Signatures have a meaning, so you should understand providing a signature on a document is very serious.
The signers must understand both what they are signing and what their signature represents.
The approver is attesting for the company that information is correct, accurate and complete.
If a date is missing from a document, the signer should write “originally signed on DD/Month/YYYY”, then initial and date today’s date.
