Impact Assessment is important because it’s used to determine the level of Commissioning, Qualification and Validation (CQV) Activities required for each equipment/system.

Direct, Indirect, No Impact

They are as follows:

  • Complete Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation (CQV) Activities are required for the Direct Impact systems.
  • Commissioning and Basic Level of Qualification activities are required for the Indirect Impact systems as per the intended use of the system. The scope of a basic level of qualification shall be determined by SMEs depending upon the criticality of the system.
  • No qualification or validation activities are required for No Impact systems, however, they shall be designed and commissioned according to Good Engineering practices (if required).
