HIPAA – Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act

Many individuals working in the life sciences industry will encounter protected patient information under the rules of HIPAA.  A lack of comprehensive knowledge and understanding of HIPAA regulations can lead to non-compliance risks, data breaches, and compromised patient privacy and security. In this course, participants learn more about the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, or HIPAA, by looking at the basics of HIPAA before moving on to the rules under HIPAA. The course finishes by reviewing common violations and how they can achieve HIPAA compliance.
