The 4 Times When Transcribing Data is Acceptable – GDP [Video]

Anything that is transcribed, regardless of the reason, must be traceable to and verified by a second person against the source document.

Verified Transcribed Data

Only verified transcribed data can be considered as the source document thereafter.

The only time transcription is allowed is when:

  • Records have been torn or damaged
  • Raw data was collected on an incorrect form or other incorrect location
  • The data in the original source document becomes illegible
  • During an approved procedure that may involve creating photocopy or scanned file

In cases when the original source document becomes illegible, investigate as required and follow the process outlined in Zoetis Global Procedure to preserve and correct the data.
